Family Fun

Family fun can come from doing many different activities together. Some being as simple as trying out an animal walk inside the home or outdoors. As you encourage your child to slither like a snake, hop like a frog, gallop like a horse, or walk like a bear on all fours, not only will you be encouraging your little one to develop some new physical skills, but think about the fun you will have trying out some of these positions and movements yourself! Learn how volleying, throwing, lifting, running, hopping, kicking, balancing and more are developed in a fun way without any specialized equipment! Active for Life has a list of 49 fun physical activities to do with kids aged 2 to 4 years of age and the big people that love them. Visit activeforlife.com for details.

Having fun with your children can be as simple as having them learn how to garden alongside with you. Projects may take more time to complete but think of the joy they’ll experiencing eating a juicy berry from their own strawberry plant, or pulling a carrot out of the ground to enjoy as a snack – foods you grow yourself always taste better! Learn some tips and benefits about gardening with your children in the Keeping In Touch article, Foodshare: Gardening with Children.
