YMCA Walk for Strong Kids Recap

On October 24th, children from our school-age before-and-after school programs put on their best superhero gear to participate in the 6th annual YMCA Walk for Strong Kids.
"The Walk for Strong Kids is an event we look forward to participating in each year with our mini-philanthropists,” shares Josh Miller, Healthy Child Development Manager. This year, we had superhero capes and masks, fun and games, and some children even chose to run laps for additional physical activity!”
The kids gathered pledges from friends and family ahead of time and all funds raised go to YMCA Strong Kids Annual Campaign to provide those who need it most with access to the Y’s life-enhancing programs. One in five children receive financial assistance to access YMCA programs. Thanks to the support of our generous donors, every kid has the chance find their place at the Y regardless of their ability to pay.
“We are grateful to our YMCA parents and guardians for supporting their children to raise funds,” says Joshua. “This year's Walk for Strong Kids managed to raise over $15,000 to help others in the community reach their full potential. Thank you!”
