Pop-Up Program Schedule

Even though the building on Hocking Avenue is not open, the Y will continue to be very active in our community. We are happy to report that we have secured a handful of temporary locations so that we can continue to offer select programming to active members at no cost during the temporary closure:

YMCA LIVE WELL

YMCA Live Well classes are designed to encourage the community spirit of the Y’s members through a combination of agility, flexibility, strength and endurance exercises. These fun classes will provide exercise for both active older adults and those that need a seated class. Ideal for graduates of the YMCA Cardiac Care program, as well as anyone looking for a class that combines socially connecting with others while exercising. 

Time: Tuesdays and Thursdays starting July 18, 2017
Location: Chilliwack Alliance Church (8700 Young Road)

Active class: Tuesday at 9:15 to 10:15 a.m.
Seated class: Tuesday 10:30-11:15 a.m.
Active class: Thursday at 9:15 to 10:15 a.m.
Seated class: Thursday 10:30-11:15 a.m.

**Please note that Live Well is on holiday break from November 10th to January 8th. The last class is November 9th, 2017 and we will start again on January 9th, 2018.

YOGA

Yoga will continue to keep your spirit calm and your muscles limber through classes suitable for all ages and abilities. 

Time: Thursdays from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m.
Location: Roy Gray room, Firehall #1 (45950 Cheam Avenue)

CHILLIWACK WALKS

Chilliwack Walks in partnership with the City of Chilliwack will continue this summer beginning July 4th at locations throughout the city. Come join us for 8 walks in 8 weeks!  Walks will happen on Tuesdays at 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. 

GROUP FITNESS

Group fitness classes will be held prior to some week’s Chilliwack Walks sessions at nearby parks and other spaces. Classes like Bootcamp and Yoga will be announced weekly here on our website when details are confirmed.

YMOVE

YMove is a physical literacy program for kids ages 3 to 9 years developed by the YMCA of Greater Vancouver and Sport for Life that teaches children the key skills necessary to live an active healthy life. Typical activities will include games that get kids balancing, jumping, falling, running, hopping, skipping and rolling. YMove will happen at a variety of locations throughout the summer. Details to be announced soon.
