The Y is committed to helping children and families thrive. Our Early Learning programs provide an environment that helps kids feel at home, learning and growing in a welcoming, safe and stimulating atmosphere.
The Seasong Child Care Centre provides quality care and early learning education for children ages 12 months to 5 years, and full- and part-time options are available to families. The centre is located on the border of Richmond's Blundell and Steveston neighbourhoods and will be opening in September 2018.
Child care spaces will be allotted through a lottery process. Applications for spaces will be accepted from March 5-19, 2018. You can apply for care here.
After March 19th, applications received by the deadline will be pooled, drawn randomly and placed on the wait-list in the order they are drawn. The Lottery draw will take place by Wednesday March 21st. After this date, YMCA staff will contact families to confirm and complete registration. Opportunities to visit the centre and meet with staff will take place in the summer.
For the initial intake/enrollment, a lottery process will take place to ensure that the process is fair and transparent and that there is equal access to the child care spaces. Priority for child care spaces is as follows:
1. Families who live and/or work in Richmond.
2. General public.
Applications received after the lottery application process will be placed on the wait-list in order of date received.
