The Y at Cameron Elementary

Ages 6 to 12

Bringing Learning to After School Time (BLAST) gives kids aged 6-12 a chance to participate in recreation activities, art and science, and receive homework help all in a fun and positive environment.

Funded by the United Way, YMCA BLAST provides enrichment opportunities for elementary school students in Cloverdale and Burnaby. The program targets vulnerable children with financial restrictions to participate in activities outside of school.

To fulfill the program goal, the YMCA BLAST team works in partnership with external organizations to provide the participants with diverse learning opportunities. Some of our past partners include Gymnastics BC, Mad Science, Shadbolt Centre for the Arts and Surrey Museum.
