The Y at Bernard Elementary
Ages 3 to 5
The preschool years are exciting times—children are growing quickly and elementary school is just around the corner! Children in our Preschool programs are provided with vital learning opportunities in a safe, nurturing environment.
Children learn to build healthy relationships, develop school readiness skills and discover learning through creative play following the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum. Our curriculum aligns with the BC Ministry of Education's Early Learning Framework. This national play-based curriculum helps build capacity for lifelong learning and combines our decades of experience in children’s programming with the latest body of knowledge on how the brain develops and how children learn. Strengthening our community starts with helping kids reach their potential.
Our Preschool programs follow a child to staff ratio of 1:10 and offer convenient part- and full-time options with various hours. Children spend time outside each day and are provided with healthy snacks.
The YMCA has Preschool programs throughout the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley. To apply for preschool, please review the locations in the schedule below, and click ‘Join our wait-list’ to submit your application.
