The Assistant Swim Instructor assists the Swim Instructor in facilitating swim lessons. The Assistant Swim Instructor will carefully monitor all class participants to enforce safe practices, devote equal time to all participants, and refer questions from parents of participants to Instructors. The Assistant Swim Instructor will also ensure that each child is safely returned to his/her parent at the end of each lesson.

  • Minimum 16 years of age
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm and genuine interest in working with children/youth
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level ‘C’
  • Completion of volunteer documentation, with criminal record check
  • Attend the YMCA orientation, department specific orientation, and fitness instructor meetings
