Grades 2 to 10

Come shoot some hoops with us! Our volunteer-driven league teaches kids the game of basketball with an emphasis on fun and teamwork. Our league offers kids in grades 2-10 the chance to enjoy playing basketball in a recreational setting where no scores or standings are kept.

New for the Fall/Winter 2019/2020 season!

  • Addition of separate girls division to further grow and develop the game for female athletes starting at the Grade 4/5 level.
  • Online registration now available. See below for instructions.

Surrey/Delta Leagues:

Please see below for the Grade divisions along with the corresponding zones before registering.

Fees include practices, games and a jersey (yours to keep!). Financial assistance is available; please contact us to learn more.

Participants register for a zone and are placed on a team within that zone. In the event that there are not enough players or coaches for a particular zone, we will offer a spot in another zone or issue a refund. A team can only run with two volunteer coaches in place. Please consider volunteering if you have a passion helping children and youth develop in a positive environment.

Volunteer Instructors Needed!

We are looking forward to another Fall/Winter 2019/2020 season. Join us and make a difference for children and youth through sports and recreation. All volunteers receive training free of charge — including manuals and resources provided by the Coaching Association of Canada in collaboration with Canada Basketball. Volunteers will also be provided opportunities for professional development in physical education and/or coaching through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP).

We need your help! Email sportsleagues@gv.ymca.ca or visit our web page to learn more about volunteering with the YMCA Youth Basketball League today!

Thank you to all of the dedicated volunteers who make our programs possible. With your help we are able to run basketball leagues across the lower mainland. As a charity, we are dedicated to strengthening the foundations of community, and your involvement has a direct impact on the children and youth of the future.
