More than 4,000 kids participate in the 2024 YMCA BC Kids Walk presented by Odlum Brown.
On Wednesday, May 29th, our YMCA Child Care participants, their families and our staff across the province participated in the YMCA BC Kids Walk presented by Odlum Brown. The enthusiasm and passion demonstrated in this year’s walk, which raises funds to help provide children and families with access to child care, camps, swim lessons and other life- lifechanging YMCA programs and services, was on full display.
More than 4,000 kids from over 130 child care centres across Greater Vancouver, Kamloops and Northern BC dressed up as superheroes and filled their communities with the giving spirit during what was an incredibly special morning. In addition to the walk, some YMCA BC child care centres set up lemonade stands or found other creative ways to raise funds for the cause.
As a result of the tremendous efforts our YMCA child care community and support from our generous donors, the fundraising total appears to be well on its way to achieving the $50,000 goal set for this year’s walk.
The success of this year’s walk would not be possible without our presenting sponsor Odlum Brown and its generous commitment of $10,000 in matching funds toward our goal.
