All YMCA overnight camp programs take place at YMCA Camp Elphinstone, located on B.C.'s Sunshine Coast. Overnight camp includes summer one-week and two-week sessions, extended leadership programs for teens, wilderness expeditions, and family camps.

Overnight Camp
With an emphasis on building independence and personal development, campers gain confidence in the overnight camp setting. Campers learn new skills and challenge themselves with many traditional camp activities like canoeing, archery, and ropes courses. From specialized sailing or out-tripping camps to shorter introductory sessions for little ones, we have something for everyone.
Overnight Programs:
One and Two Week Camps (7-15 years)

Family Camp
YMCA Camp Elphinstone offers an ideal setting for families to focus on what’s most important—spending time together. Family Camp, which takes place in September and October, is a great way for families to escape the city without the hassle of pitching a tent or driving long distances.
2025 Family Camp Dates:
Summer Family Camp: Late August (all ages)
Fall Family Camp: Thanksgiving Weekend (all ages)

We will make every effort to honour mutual requests between campers who are within one year of age from each other, but cabin placements cannot be guaranteed.
Unfortunately, campers registered for different session types cannot be placed in cabins together.
Work to complete upgrades to YMCA Camp Elphinstone's dock and pier will be ongoing through the summer. To ensure the safety of all campers, staff and visitors, access to the dock and pier will not be permitted while this work continues. However, we will continue to offer waterfront activities.

Yes, your child may register for multiple camp sessions, as long as the dates of the sessions do not overlap.
To receive a full refund (less the non-refundable/non-transferrable deposit), notification must be received in writing no later than two weeks prior to the start of your registered session. Session transfers must be completed at least one week prior to your registered session. The same policy applies to Family Camp sessions, for which the non-refundable/non-transferrable deposit is $75 per person.
Yes, if they have a local emergency contact. An additional administrative fee of $175 will apply to international campers.
Member discounts will not be applied to registration fees for the 2024 camp season.
No, YMCA Community Portal accounts cannot be accessed by more than one device at the same time. Families can complete simultaneous registrations if parents/guardians establish unique YMCA Community Portal accounts. Otherwise, please register your campers one at a time using a single account.
When logged into your YMCA Community Portal account at myymca.ca, click "YGift Cards" at the top of your screen. Select "Elphinstone Tuck Shop" and click "Purchase Now," then complete the following:
- Enter the credit value you wish to purchase.
- Select the camper who will receive the Tuck Shop credit.
- (Optional) Add a YGift Card for another camper on your account.
- Click "Add to Cart."
- Confirm your order and Check Out
- Confirm payment information and click "Pay."
